Once again, why the intermediate class? Come on, those are clearly advanced stats.

  • Anonymous Coward Says:

I couldn’t agree more. don’t ya’ll want to challenge yourselves or is winning all that matters?! It’s not a victory when your competing against those not as advanced. Just sayin

  • anonymous 2 Says:

    i completely agree….seems it’s a regular occurance.

  • Sean Says:

I think that it’s important to remember that even though someone has some advanced times, or weights that they lift listed on their profile (which is usually a collection of the workouts they are best at, especially when they are picked by the competitor), they might not be an “advanced” crossfitter. There are people out there that can rep 300lb deadlifts and heavy thrusters, but who cannot do a kipping pullup. Some of these athletes should be in the advanced category, and some rightfully should be in the intermediate class, even though their “best” workouts listed on paper would suggest otherwise. I am sure it will be ironed out at the event when people actually start doing the workouts……ANYWAY, I have met Danielle a couple times, and she is super nice. I know she will do awesome!

  • anonymous Says:

It could be, that those stats are from six months ago. Maybe Danielle is coming back after a layoff, injury or vacation…

  • another intermediate gal Says:

Well if any of that is the case then she is probably chomping at the bit, and the rest of us truly intermediate xfiters are going to get slammed, I guess we shall see Saturday.

  • Anonymous Coward Says:

Those stats are not just heavy lifting. They are a combination of Heavy lifting, Metcons, and gymnastic which cleary suggest Advance. If she is coming off of a layoff then those are no longer her stats they are old stats

  • Sam G Says:

This is the Garage Games for petes sake! You people are so serious, trolling the competitors stats thinking that they are going to cheat just to win the Garage Games? Come on! This is fun! CrossFit is fun! You people need to stop whining and go do a WOD.

  • Anonymous Says:

Sorry, but it states that if you have a clear weakness you can consider yourself an intermediate. Those stats pretty much cover every skill. 35 pull ups, 115 snatch, sub 5 Fran! Please.

  • Sean Says:

if you will look me up on the competitor page (Sean Provost) you will notice I wrote 17:48 as my 5k run time. I wrote it because it is my best time ever, and is is clearly asking for PRs. This time was achieved 6 YEARS AGO, and I ASSURE you that I could not come CLOSE to that time right now. You never know what someone’s deal is. Like someone has already said, maybe those stats are from a long time ago, maybe she is injured somehow. You never know the full story. It clearly states on the registration page that just because you sign up for a category, doesn’t mean that is where you will compete. So why don’t we let the event admins worry about that and save comments on competitor’s profiles for encouragement? This is going to be a lot of fun and there are going to be LOADS of quality people there, why take time to criticize someone’s choices when its going to get taken care of by the right people if it NEEDS to be..?

  • Sean Says:

Also, I agree with Sam G…:)

(Sorry Dr. Eric, or Andy, or whoever is having to moderate posts haha)

  • DrEric Says:

Man – we got some sharks. The GG organizers (not me, i’m just a competitor from here on out, kicked out of meetings and everything) will make sure that sandbagging is not rewarded. I have however, already found out about four injuries in some of the people getting ripped for dropping down.

And as Sam says above, you guys are competing for bragging rights, but in the end, Advanced is the place to brag, below that it is simply to allow you to be competitive. Would you not want someone really tough to chase down, hopefully over come, and beat? Be thankful that you have Danielle in this group, and hope that she is healthy enough to kick some butt and make you work!

  • Amanda Says:

As a fellow competitor that also got “called out” on her profile stats (I should mention a first time competitor and less than six month Crossfitter), I say THANK YOU to Sam G, Sean, Dr Eric for your wise words and perspective. Some folks are just brutal!

  • Danielle Says:

WOWZER!!! Who knew there’d be all these posts about little old me?!?

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Sean (looking forward to seeing you and Mariah this weekend!). I think I’m a pretty nice person, too, and, with that said, can assure everyone that there’s no ulterior motive to me registering in the intermediate level. I’m just getting back to training after being out of the gym for some time, am a long way from the CrossFitter I used to be, and am just happy to be participating in the Garage Games…for FUN! I’ll be lucky if I can finish the 7k trail run. And the 20 reps of a 205 deadlift in the advanced division are sure to bust my back open wide. If you all don’t mind, I’d like to keep myself healthy and injury-free, at least through this weekend.

Hoping that folks will be in better spirits this weekend. I thought this was supposed to be fun!

Dr. Eric, hope to meet you. And Sam G, you are the bomb-diggity!

  • Damon Mosley_CFRx Says:

What’s with all of the “Anonymous” hating?? Old stats, new stats, healthy, or back from injury/layoff…why does it matter so much to you which level she competes at? Any and every athlete has the right to compete at the level that they feel most comfortable at…which (by the way) is no where close to being any of your business!

Well said Sean…looking forward to seeing team Provost and Dani get it on this weekend.

  • sam g Says:

    Way to say it Damon!

  • Kevin Says:

I’m just glad that Sean’s 5K PR is not currently sub 18 and that he laid emphasis on not coming close to that time ; )

“This time was achieved 6 YEARS AGO, and I ASSURE you that I could not come CLOSE to that time right now”

….but I bet he is still sub 20……..dangit

  • Brandon Bergin Says:

Come on Kevin, just a little jog in the woods, don’t worry about it ;)

  • MK Says:

Woah! Good luck, Danielle. Your stats deserve some applause.

  • cori Says:

i am with danielle on those deadlifts! 20×205# for me would be brutal. possible, but definitely not something i want to do to myself for a competitive event that i am doing to gain experience.

from a personal perspective, i’ve been questioning people’s divisional placement because i strive to be in the advanced, and if i had advanced stats i would be so honored to do advanced! but as someone said, we have no idea when or under what circumstances everyone’s PRs were achieved….these folks could be injured, although i hope that is not the case for anyone! i feel bad for even questioning and i want to make a public apology here on the board.

and if we’re honest with ourselves, i think we are all a little jealous if we’re in the intermediate division. at least i know that is true for myself!

let’s just have fun! and i look forward to meeting all of these strong, awesome cf women!

  • Marc Says:

    Danielle,
Sounds like you got some fans!! Or maybe even a few haters. GBD!!! Good luck girl.

  • Sean Says:

Well, it makes me feel better to hear that other people are claiming 6 year old PR’s, because some of the numbers up here are pretty sick. It only means that some of the people aren’t going to do as well as the numbers would suggest.
However, as stated in runners world magazine recently, a PR is only legitimate for 2 years after it is set. After that, we need a disclaimer.
Honestly, it doesn’t matter. If someone should be advanced but aren’t, that’s just one less person who is eligible for the top 16. Let’s just have a good time. Can’t wait to see all these beasts compete!

  • Fat Boy Says:

    GO Little D!!!!

  • Baker Says:

what a bunch of cry babies. i hope to GOd this event isnt surrounded by drama from people whining and bitching about someones times and what classification they are in. there is a word to describe people like that and it starts with a P!!!!!

  • Pat C Says:

Good luck and have fun, DaniB!

  • Games Fan 101 Says:

no matter the stats… this girl has got it going on! I say she does whatever she wants. WOO WOO

  • Sam G Says:
